The inaguration symposium of the interfaculty Center for Membrane Research (iCMR) took place from March 30 to April 1, 2026 in the Haus der Universität in Düsseldorf.
It was a true blast for speakers, participants and organizers - three busy days filled with science, coffee and fun. We were happy to welcome many old friends and meet even more new people at the event. Our guests Sonja-Verena Albers, Johannes Herrmann, Peter Vandeabeele, Konstanze Winklhofer, Sandro Keller, Dirk Slotboom, Irmgard Sinning, Marius Lemberg, Julia Bandow and Marc Bramkamp made a splendid constellation and demonstrated how years how years of detailed work on the smallest details come together to form a coherent and fascinating whole. The lively discussions at the poster displays and during the coffee breaks showed that there is still much to discuss and explore.
All in all, it was a thoroughly successful launch to introduce the iCMR and lay the foundations for future events and collaborations.
